Dr. Keith Morneau

Chairman of the Board

Dr. Morneau has over 30 years of higher education leadership experience. He currently is a Dean of a Cybersecurity program with 13 campuses and 2600 students that is growing 15-20% a year. He was on the team that started an Undergraduate school in the early 2000s. He has over 15 years experience as a daily communicant, sacristan, Knights of Columbus member, and Trail Life Scout Leader. His family was Family of the Year in 2023. Dr. Morneau is a husband and father to four homeschooled kids.

An executive-level leader with over 25 years of experience, Matthew brings strategic and transformational leadership to businesses and non-profits. He is a Chesterton aficionado and a founding executive board member of a Catholic historic preservation society. Matthew is a husband and a father of 8 children with more than twenty years’ experience as a parent-volunteer at Seton School, an independent Catholic school founded by Dr. Warren Carroll and Mrs. Anne Carroll of Christendom College.

Robert Earl

A dedicated leader and family man, Robert Earl's lifelong service to country started with 21 years of active duty in the US Army and continues today directing global intelligence IT investments for the Department of Defense. Alongside his wife Tammy, Robert is raising seven daughters; they are active in the Catholic Church and he serves in the Knights of Columbus. Robert supports Tammy's homeschooling efforts by coaching cross-country and teaching German.

JoEllen Murphy

JoEllen Murphy is a stay-at-home mother of five who is active in her community. Her children’s education experience runs the gamut: public school, Catholic school and homeschool. She is passionate about classical education and faith formation. She has thirty years of broad experience working with leaders in the field of women and children.

Laura Hassan

Member

Laura is a global humanitarian, education, and child protection leader with over twenty years of experience. She serves as Principal Consultant at Ascend Consulting in Washington, DC, and she is the founding President of the Board for the Interparliamentary Task Force on Human Trafficking. Laura is a wife and stepmother to 8 children with experience as an engaged parent at Seton School, an independent Catholic school founded by Dr. Warren Carroll and Mrs. Anne Carroll of Christendom College.

James Downey

Member

James Downey is an Attorney at Law, practicing in Warrenton, Va.   He earned his J.D. and LL.M. degrees from George Washington University and has been a leader in the Virginia Bar and in the civic life of Fauquier County.   He served as County Attorney and participates in a variety of civic organizations aimed at the betterment of the community.   Jim is a graduate of St. Anselm’s Abbey School in Washington, D.C., and Fordham University in New York City, where he received a classical education, excelling in Greek and Latin.  He is an active member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Warrenton, where he has served for many years as a catechist and member of the Knights of Columbus.   Jim and his wife Pat are devoted parents of six children and ten grandchildren.

Fr. Charles Smith

Spiritual Director

Father Smith's journey to the priesthood took him from Florida to Virginia, where he attended diocesan Catholic schools, including Holy Spirit, St. Michael's, and O'Connell High School. He continued his education at George Mason University, earning a degree in International Studies in 1987. For the next twelve years, he worked in banking, government contracting, and insurance sales while residing in Reston, Virginia. However, his calling led him to St. Charles Seminary in Philadelphia, where he was ordained in 2006. Father Smith has since served in various assignments, most recently at St. Raymond in Springfield, before becoming the pastor of St. John the Evangelist parish in Warrenton. He also serves as chaplain for the Arlington Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and enjoys reading, hiking, and connecting with his parishioners.
